Zhongguancun before dawn, February 2011

I was just in Beijing.  I stayed at the Yanshan Hotel in Zhongguancun.  One morning I woke up well before dawn and went out to take some pictures.  I basically made a loop, following Kexueyuan South Road from No. 3 Ring Road up to Zhichun Road, then turned left and went along Zhichun Road to Zhongguancun Boulevard, then back down to the hotel.  I was shooting with my Canon S95.  Once again, my SLR remained in its bag.

Peking University before dawn, February 2011

I was in Beijing last week for a meeting.  One morning, I made it up to the campus of Peking University before dawn to take some pictures.  It was very cold, so I ended up going through 3 batteries in something like an hour.  I think I nearly ended up with frostbite on my fingers.  Anyway, I think the results made it worthwhile.   I added the pictures to my existing gallery of night photos from the Peking University campus.  Here are a few of my favorites...
