A day at the Huntington Library, November 2008

We spent last Sunday at the Huntington Library. We spent most of our time at the new Chinese Garden ( 流芳园) which is neat but still a work in progress, the Rose Garden and the Rose Hills Foundation Conservatory for Botanical Science, the Children's Garden, the finally the Desert Garden. The weather was generally cooperative.

I spent a lot of time trying to take pictures of flowers, especially the roses, with mixed results. I was shooting the flowers with the amazing 70-200L f4 IS, which was probably not the best lens for that particular job, but fun nonetheless, and yielded some interesting results. At the Chinese Gardens I was using the 17-55 f2.8 IS.
