Someone actually linked to my site!

Cool! Someone actually linked to my site. An entry in the Chinese Culture blog at about.com about a visit to the 'Houses' that London and the Netherlands had set up in Beijing during the games linked to one of my Nanluoguxiang galleries in a list that includes Nanluoguxiang as one of the tourist traps in Beijing. I guess it is a tourist trap, but as they go, it is a pretty pleasant one, and a lot more low-key and grown-up than say Houhai. Anywat it is nice to see a link to my site, and the blog is pretty interesting.

UCLA campus at night with the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 on a Canon 20D

I spent yesterday evening wandering around the campus of UCLA with my new Tokina 11-16 f2.8. The results were better than expected. I shot at ISO 1600. Post-processing included straightening and cropping, white balance adjustment, and tone curve adjustment, but no sharpening. I was really impressed. This is a really spectacular lens.

Map view of photos from Peking University (北京大学) back in March 2008

These aren't new photos. Back in March I spent an evening walking around the Peking University (北京大学) campus taking pictures. I finally incorporated the KML feed from Smugmug into a Google Map so I could embed it into a post to my blog...

Vancouver, August 2008

Just came back from a weekend in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. I didn't have too much time for shooting since it was a short trip and I was busy with family stuff. So these aren't my favorite shots. But I was happy because this was my first outing with my Tokina 11-16 f2.8 which I think acquitted itself extremely well. Here are my favorites and here is the whole gallery.

Below is a map view of my shots... Just click on one of the green icons to bring up a thumbnail of the photo from that location, and click on the thumbnail to go see the photo in the gallery...
