Manhattan Beach Pier, with a storm coming in, January 2008

I was down at Manhattan Beach pier yesterday evening. It was pretty empty since a storm was coming in. The wind was blowing, and the water was pretty choppy. There were big banks of clouds over Torrance and the Palos Verdes peninsula that were lit up in interesting ways.

The pier is one of my favorite locations for nighttime shooting. I'm not sure why. I think piers are always interesting places to shoot at night because they are so geometric and lonely.
